Keep Calm and Be Awesome

This drawing is a satire of the image crafting and narcissism that occur on social media. Every day, as I scroll through my newsfeed on Facebook, I am overwhelmed by selfies, life status updates that would interest only a minimal number of people, travel pictures, and food pictures. It feels as though my newsfeed has turned into a massive, brain-numbing advertisement for how great these people and their lives are. In the midst of scrolling, I will often experience moments of clarity in which I wonder, “Why am I wasting my time on this?” Still, I keep doing it.

“Keep Calm and Be Awesome” has been exhibited in my solo show Too Much Information and in the group show Love, Food and Soul. Prints of it can be purchased in my shop.
